Rocky

I want to introduce you to the 10th member of our family. This is Rocky. He is a black lab with a little rotwieller in him. He spends his days ruling the back yard. He is a very smart dog. He has learned all kinds of tricks by watching the kids. He can even climb a chain link fence. And I mean he climbs it.
He has been with with us for 7 years. He is a great guard dog (every one on the street is afraid of him) and is wonderful with the kids.
We came home from church the other day to find him sitting on the roof. He watched how Eric and Randy got on the roof to shovel the snow and copied it. It was the funniest thing I have seen in a long time.
Rocky is a wonderful dog and we enjoy him being a part of our family.

Lunar Eclipse

There was a lunar eclipse tonight. My little camera didn't take a very good picture but this is what I got.
It was a clear night and we had a perfect view off the deck. The younger kids really enjoyed watching it but were a little disappointed that it wasn't red. (Someone told them it would turn red.)

Look what we found!

Eric and Randy found some moose in a field about 3 blocks from the house. They got the camera and came back with some pictures. You can see two of them sitting in the field.
This is the smaller of the two.
This is the big one. I zoomed in on this picture so you could see him better.
Eric said they yelled and shouted but they didn't seem to care. That is one big, ugly moose.

The fun just keeps on coming.

Some pictures from around town that show the snow. We had several more inches after these pictures were taken.
Some of the trees outside the middle school.
The snow piles are from the snow they shoveled off the roof. The building is approximately 30 to 35 feet tall.
This is right out the front door. You can see the fence in the background in this picture. The snow covers the fence now.
The kids had fun looking for icycles. The is one of the bigger ones they found.
It was so cold Kevin's drool froze before it hit the ground!
This is what happens
when school is cancelled 4 days out of 5
and there is nothing else to do. Can you image what I looked like by the end of that week?!
