Silverwood

I'm back. My kodak program is giving me problems but I found a way to get around them. The kids earned some tickets to Silverwood during the school year by reading so we set a date and took them. This is what the skies looked like. Not so good. We got maybe 2 1/2 to 3 hours of sunlight and then the storms hit.Amanda was mad becouse I was making them "waste time" by sitting for a picture. After the picture she took off with Todd and we didn't see them again until almost noon. They are the only ones who like roller coasters so they spent all morning riding them.
Eric and Randy caught up with us at the scrambler.Kevin isn't really screaming. This picture was taken before the ride took off. Amanda, Todd, Eric and Randy found us at the bumper cars. We were trying to stay out of the rain.

At lunch time the sun came out and we thought we would get a break. By the end of lunch it was hailing. Jason was so cold that we went home.
Nothing was going to stop Jeff from eating the rediculously priced food we bought, not even the hail. The rest of us are standing under an awning with about 25 other people.

Happy Birthday Amanda

Amanda turned 14 years old this week. She spent it at Cross country camp. The coach brought cupcakes and candles. She was a beautiful baby and she's a beautiful young lady. We love you Amanda and happy birthday.

Back to Safeco Field

Jeff, his Dad, and his brothers Troy and Nathan made a trip to the Mariners. Troy is moving to California and they wanted to make one last trip together(?). This is a rolling information booth. It looks like something you would see in Japan.Apparently there was some excitement when this bozo made a dash across the field.

Deer Park Settler's Day Parade

Deer Park has a Settler's Day Parade every July around the end of the month. It is the oldest parade in the state of Washington. This year is it's 100th year. It has 3 phases. The first is for children and starts must further along the route than the rest of the parade. Our Primary had their activity as part of the parade. The second phase is the political candidates. It's long and boring! This is an election year so it was realllllly long and realllllly boring. The third phase is the actual parade. The whole thing is about 2 hours long. Todd, Brenda and Jason walked with the primary and then came back and watched the rest of the parade and collected as much candy as they could.

This is the Deer Park float. It won 1st place in 7 or 8 different parades it was in.

Jeff, Amanda and Kevin were with the Yokes float, not pictured anywhere, and passed out frozen otter pops. My camera wasn't charged all the way and went dead before they got to me. Randy and Eric didn't make the parade this year. Eric was in Wyoming at Martin's Cove with the Priests and Randy was at Priest Lake with the Teachers. Amanda and Kevin got back from their camps before the parade.

Pioneer Trek

Randy, Amanda and Kevin went on a Pioneer Trek with the Stake. The trek lasted 3 days. These are some of the pictures that the kids brought back.

The shoes are Randy's contrabution to the pictures. The rest of his pictures were, if you can believe it, worse.
